Rise Against Hunger
January 8, 2022 2:00 - 4:00pm | Jefferson Fire Hall
About
Rise Against Hunger, an international humanitarian organization, is growing a global movement to end hunger by empowering communities, nourishing lives, and responding to emergencies. With locations across the U.S. and five international offices, the organization provides immediate nourishment for those facing hunger today and implements sustainable solutions that will lift entire communities for years to come. Rise Against Hunger has facilitated volunteer meal packaging of more than 540 million meals to be distributed to countries around the world.
Our Goal
Bethlehem & Greenmount will be partnering with local community groups and businesses to raise money and recruit volunteers to pack meals for hungry people around the world. We will be packing over 10,000 meals on Saturday, January 8th over a period of 2 hours. It is a great way to bring the local community together to make a difference globally. We are hosting it at the Jefferson Fire Hall to have enough space and to make the loading/unloading easier. At $.35 a meal, we will need to raise $3,500 to host this
RISE AGAINST HUNGER event.
Event Information
All ages and abilities are welcome. Whether you are age 3 or 93 we have a spot for you. There will be seated positions available for those who need them. This event will be lively and will have background music to keep us energized. We will find a willing volunteer to ring the gong for every 1,000 meals packed.
